Algebra word problem equation initially create a slope?

The driver of a car for the first time 505 miles from home, travel to the house on a highway at 70 miles per hour straight. Write a formula for a function f that models the linear distance between the driver and the home after hours of x. I think it's something like: f (x) = 70X-505 is not very secure. Help?

f (x) =- 70X 505, you get the correct number as you did, but was negative. You may have a negative change, but not a negative distance.
