Animation and College Algebra?

I have this project for my college algebra class and em very confused. We are suppose to look for formulas or something related to math to explain one of our majors. As for me, my major is animation. I know A Lot of math is used but how can i explain it with words and numbers? or can anyone give me examples? for example the teacher showed one project of his earliest group who calculated how many seconds, or frames per second, to take for an object to fall to the floor so it could look realistic. I hope you understand what i am explaining.
Thank you for your time.

This site covers all of the math involved in all forms of animation.
