Diving monomials algebra 1 !!!!!!!!? plz help
Hey guys I just learned how to divide monomials but I dont get how to do this problem someone plz help me best answer gets 10 points are also working plz! =) (-A) 4 <— <—- Exponet b8 Exponet (-a 4b8/a4b7)
The way the writing is confusing, but here is what I think is the problem. It may represent the key exponents of carats. Example: x ^ 2 is x squared. Simplify (-a) 8 ^ 4 b ^ a ^ 4 b ————- ^ 7 First of all, realize that if you raise a negative number (or a positive number) to a power, even the answer will be positive. Therefore (-a) ^ 4 = a ^ 4. A ^ 4 b ^ 8 ^ a b ^ 4 ———– 7 When you divide things with the same base, subtract the exponents. a ^ (4-4) b ^ (8-7) = A 0 b ^ 1 ^ A raised to the power zero is one, so your answer is b ^ 1 = b
