algebra problems inequalities
I need help on solving systems of inequalities and equations? – Algebra?

Ok I understand that subitution is when you replace a variable in an equation for 0. What I dint get is a system of equations or a system of inequalities. I need help solving 5x+2y=6 & 9x+2y=22. for a system of inequalities, I need help solving 2y-4x=2 & y=-3x+6. My homework says that there can be infinite solutions, 1 solution or no solutions to the inequality problems. How is that possible? If you could guide me through the steps that would be great. Thanks for the help.0

Value of x:
6 – 5x = 22 – 9x
4x = 16
x = 4

Value of y—1st equation:
5(4) + 2y = 6
5(2) + y = 3
10 + y = 3
y = – 7

Answer: x = 4, y = – 7

y in terms of x—1st equation:
2y – 4x = 2
y – 2x = 1
y = 2x + 1

Value of x:
2x + 1 = – 3x + 6
5x = 5
x = 1

Value of y—2nd equation:
= – 3(1) + 6
= – 3 + 6
= 3

Answer: x = 1, y = 3
