Algebra Review Questions

Another topic of discussion algebra?!?
f (x) = (x ^ 2 for x equal to 0 (ax + ba <ox> 0, the function above is an inverse function of the following values of b? a) = -1, b = b -2) = -1, b = 2 c) = 0, b = -1) A = 1, b = -2 E) = 1, b = 2 I do not understand, any explanation would be appreciated.
"Reverse" means passes the horizontal line test, so that any vertical line can not touching the graphics in addition to a point. The x ^ 2-part graphics in the second quadrant, where x <= 0 y> = 0. So basically you should make sure forms are ax + b <0 for x> 0 y = 0 only when x = 0. The run through them: a)-x-2 is <=- 2 all x = 0, then have a setback b) x-2 has an inverse: f (-1) = (-1) ^ 2 = 1 then f (1) =- 1 2 = 1 if the horizontal line y = 1 hits twice Figure c) 0x -1 is a constant ddoesn 't has an inverse) x-2 has no inverse: f (-1) = f (3) e) x 2 does not reverse: f (-2) = f (2) The short version is: "think graphically"
