Algebraic Definitions

Algebraic expressions…with only numbers!?
This is all theoretical…
Since there is a Real Number property that a * 0 = 0 (Inferring a = 0/0 for any a), can we express an arbitrary expression like
3x + 4
as
3(0/0) + 4
and use 0/0 as a numerical abstraction of a “variable”?
If we did this, we could expand it, letting
a = (0 * 1) / 0
b = (0 * 2) / 0
c = (0 * 3) / 0
d = (0 * 4) / 0
Each of these are indepentent abstractions of different variables. The idea would be to “build” elementary algebra entirely out of real numbers, including the definition of variables.
What do you think?
The idea is to eliminate letters and symbols by expressing them “in terms of” numbers. Thus, there’s no need for a separate “vocabulary” outside of the number system and operations.
