Algebraic Manipulation Questions
what is this question asking for?? Momentum = KE?
using the definitions of momentum and kinetic energ, p=mv and KE=(1/2)MV^2, show, by algebraic manipulation, that you can write KE = p^2/2m.
p=mv
p^2 = m^2 v^2
p^2/m = mv^2
multiplying by 0.5
p^2/2m = 0.5 mv^2
KE = (1/2) mv^2 = p^2/2m
