Fun Pre Algebra Activities
Tell me about the best experience you’ve had in a math class?
This weekend I will be designing curriculum and classroom activities for a Pre-Algebra class that I’m going to teach during the summer. (I’m a college student who has never taught math before.)
If you can remember any fun experiences that you’ve had in math (even if they weren’t focused on the math itself) could you briefly tell me about the experience here.
Thanks so much!!! Any answers will be appreciated
The Pre-Algebra teacher at the school where I teach is always doing interesting things with her class. She painted a whole wall with chalkboard paint and has the kids writing all over it to solve problems where she can see. She got a huge piece of plastic and put blue masking tape stripes on it at 1-foot intervals to make a rectagular coordinate system, and the kids walked on it to graph points, stood at ordered-pair intersections, and strung out a long blue string between them to form the “line” they were graphing.
