Help With Pre-algebra Homework
can you help me with my Pre Algebra homework? very simple!?
Simplify the expression.
-( j + 9 ) -13j + 12
- ( j + 9 ) -13j + 12
Math tells us to always start with the parantheses. The negative sign is in fact a -1, but since everything multiplied by 1 stays the same, there is no need to write out -1. Imagine it’s like this:
-1(j+9)
-1*j= -j -1*9= -9
So now we have -j-9-13j+12.
Now add the common terms. Whatever has “j” goes together, and regular numbers gos together.
-j – 13= -14j -9+12=3
Your answer is:
-14j+3
Have a great day.
