Pre Algebra Calculator Online
Having troubles with pre algebra?
Do you know of any online calculator that might solve a question like this one?
8x+2=x. Or 3x+3(x+4) = 12
I cannot solve these. & I’ve tried many times. My mother doesn’t even know.
Help please.
you need to get “x” on one side of the equation and numbers on the other. so:
8x + 2 = x
7x + 2 = 0 (subtract x from both sides)
7x = -2 (subtract 2 from both sides)
x = -2/7 (divide both sides by 7)
3x + 3(x + 4) = 12
3x + 3x + 12 = 12 (multiplying)
6x = 0 (subtracting 12 from both sides)
x = 0
edit: note to Joe… -2/7 is correct (as pretty much everybody else got here). you dropped “x” for no reason in your third line of analysis (it should be 8x = x-2). next time double check your work before cavalierly announcing that everyone is wrong and you are right… make sure that you are!
