Algebraic Equations Examples

What earthly value is there in learning to solve binomial equations?
Why does any high school student need to learn the ins and outs of working polynomial equations? When in anyone’s lifetime does the average person ever call on this purely abstract knowledge? Has there ever been an example presented to students that involved real-world values and not just algebraic “buckets”?
The value is in learning math. Math is essential to many of the things that make our modern society possible. This simpler math is needed to solve more complex problems later on. So basically it is part of getting an education, which is of value if you don’t want to make a career of asking “Do you want fries with that?”
