Another Algebra study help question. I need the formula. I have the answer please help me?
I need the formula for this question. Please help me:
If Sam can do a job in 4 days that Lisa can do in 6 days and Tom can do in 2 days, how long would the job take if Sam, Lisa, and Tom worked together to complete it?
The ANSWER is 1.09 days. I cant figure out how they got that answer and I cant find a similar problem online with an explaination. Please help me. Thanks
x = time to do job
x/4 + x/6 + x/2 = 1
3x/12 +2x/12 + 6x/12 = 1
11x/12 = 1
11x = 12
x = 12/11 = 1.09 days.
